Nestled in downtown Winnetka, Café Aroma is a popular dining spot for friends and neighbors along the North shore to meet and share a meal. During the day you’ll have a birds-eye view of Winnetka’s quaint shopping area and experience the café’s European charm while eating in this bright, corner café for breakfast or lunch. Premium coffee & tea, pastries, omelets, soups, salads and sandwiches are but a few of our specialties.

In the evening Café Aroma transforms into a new and exciting dining experience, an intimate European bistro. Chef Joseph Wojciechowski brings his culinary experience and passion for fresh ingredients to create Italian and Mediterranean cuisine at Aroma. Come join us for a casual evening of savory food and tasty drinks.

Two unique restaurant experiences from the owner of Café Aroma.

Founded in January 2005, Winnetka’s Café Aroma is the brainchild of local resident Mitra Ryndak. Inspired by her cultural upbringing and time spent living in Europe, the restaurant brings a unique flavor and sense of worldliness to the city’s charming downtown neighborhood.

What started out as a suggestion by Ryndak’s children for their mother to share her flair for cooking and hospitality with a larger audience, has grown ambitiously over the years. In 2011 the small café expanded to its new location at 749 Elm Street: one that boasts a full bar & dinner menu, greater seating capacity (including generous outdoor dining), and a bright, inviting interior.

In summer of 2013 Mitra launched a new dinner service with European-influenced cuisine and Chef Joeseph Wojciechowski as head chef. Now Winnetka and its North shore neighbors have new reasons to dine at Café Aroma.
